One of the most precious gifts given to us by the Lord is family. Family may be related by blood or close bond. Whether born into it, adopted, befriended or even connected through a team or church, we know that the purpose God has for us is to not do life alone. We would like to welcome you who may be single sexy and free, married happy and thriving, grandparent growing in legacy, child choosing change, a friend focusing on future or an individual challenging self for inner healing.
Family
...It begins with you
In the beginning of creation, as God completed making each of His desired masterpieces, He called them good. Heaven and earth, Good. Food and birds, Good. Time and Seasons, Good. Then after making man, the leader and covering of the home, prior to Eve being formed from His rib, you hear God's words change...He says in Genesis 2:18,
"It is NOT GOOD for man to be alone."
In Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 ESV, the bible says
"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken."
The emphasis of this verse is on the benefit of having someone by our side. Two can earn more profit for working harder. When one falls physically, spiritually or emotionally, the other is there to help lift them up. When it's freezing outside the presence of another person near helps keep them warm. Walking alone, someone may try to get over on you, but with another person, the person prowling to harm you will think twice and if they do charge, you two are able to stand together in battle. Why is this important, because you must understand that in life, in success, in families and even in grief, community, accountability and relationships are needed. Not just any kind of relationships of abuse or hurt, but ones that are valuable to help push you into your God given purpose.
The conclusion to God's statement of man alone not being good is in the same verse, He says, "I will make a helper suitable for him.” Then you see the beauty of God creating woman from the rib on the man, declaring the first marriage. Notice God didn't just say, I'm going to make him a woman. He said a suitable helper which was in the form of a woman. God is intentional, and this page was added to this site for the sole purpose of helping some of those walking alone connect in groups and find needed support and others who may be unsuitable helpers (figuratively), get the resources to become suitable to help build stronger families and healthy relationships.
Walk of Faith Challenge
The book of James chapter 2 tells us that faith without works is dead. Some of us are walking around believing things will get better without taking the steps necessary to get to the finished line. Imagine, you are about to run a race, the gun goes off and you stay in place believing in your mind that you will win, but you never move. Those in competition against you keep passing as they put actions to their faith and run, but you sit there. Eventually, the race will end and what will be the result?
What are you racing towards? A better marriage, being a better father or mother, a strong relationship with your child(ren), grandchildren or other relative, a strengthened walk as a single man or woman, becoming a better friend, supporter, relative, having healthy emotions or a better relationship with God? Regardless of your race, becoming better for the glory of God is not easy and it takes the power of the Holy Spirit as well as Truth, work and honesty to grow. So take a moment and answer these questions for yourself:
1. Are there areas in your life where more action needs to be taken?
2. What kind of number two are you? (example: uplifting, encouraging or harmful and restricting to those you should support?)
3. Are you becoming the person you desire to be?
Now take the answers and concerns you have to the Lord in prayer and share with an accountability partner, someone you trust or counselor.
